How much have your settings changed after upgrading your x-carve?

how fast is it already updated the belts and the Z axis???

With the wider belts stronger steppers and more rigid z mount you can easily carve in half the time.
That time savings comes from a combination of deeper passes and faster feeds… this could mean increasing depth per pass by 1.5x and feed increasing only a little, or doubling feed and leaving dpp alone… generally speaking the xcarve default settings have it taking rather thin passes, so i prefer deeper passes as not so much faster feeds…

and you determined this after upgrading your own x-carve with trial and error or from notes provide by inventables .

@Ken4 I did not determine this simply from notes provided from inventables.
Are you experiencing different results?

Yes, I manage only 25% to 30% increase in production without breaking cutters or stuff coming loose constantly.
all in all, the upgrades are well worth it.
I have set my spindle at or about 8000 rpm just to get a few more percentages out of it. But I’m still tweaking here and there. to get the best performance from the xcarve.

I assume you meant 8000?

@sethCNC only for my curiosity: what is your feedrate for a walnut with a 1/8 bit???
