How to put a tab on a circle

i have a ring that i wont to put a tab to fit into a notch in wood

The tab option will appear when you completely cut through your material.

wrong tabs i have a circle and a square i wont only 3 sides of the square. And part of the circle gone but put both together. so it looks like a bobber

make square overlap into circle. then select rectangle and circle. Right Click>Combine (Or Edit>Combine)
