The CNC Cookbook conducted a survey of about 300 CNC machine owners and the results are pretty interesting.

Wow, the leading material is aluminum. This was very interesting. Also, to see x-carve mentioned specificlly is cool and the penetration of Mach3 and planet CNC.

I was surprised that Carbide 3D had such a large market. It must be from their Nomad desktop machine. I suspect that the Carvey will take a large share of that desktop market moving forward.

Given that some 47% of the machines are actual CNC mills, as opposed to CNC routers, aluminum, steel, and brass making up 49% of the materials is to be expected.
