Jtec upgrade was going good until

This is what it is vs what it’s supposed to be

Do you have the J-Tech laser driver set to CW Mode or Input Control Mode? It should be set to Input Control Mode.

Do you have the Control Signal Input on the driver wired to Pin 11 & ground on the UNO? Look at Step 14.

I have the switch on the board set to TTL, but when I click send the laser doesn’t turn on… As for the wires yes I have them connected it is the red and the red and black wire connected from the back of the gantry to the yellow and black wires.

I’m at a loss.

So what are you saying since the laser does not come when you Send the gcode, you switched the driver to CW Mode instead of Input Control Mode?

CW (Constant Wattage) Mode will have the laser come on at full power regardless of the gcode S commands. You may have a bad connection somewhere for the PWM control.

I flashed to easel with X Padder and it worked fine but just tried flashing back to jtech and it wouldn’t let me I got this error of

Any ideas?

That is an indication something else is still connected to the com port (easel, PicSender, ect) or the wrong com port # is selected.

I know it’s been many months since you first had this problem. I am experiencing same consistant dark image instead of varying lines. There were alot of ideas floating around at the time as to what you should do to poweer the laser by the pwm…what was the actual cause of the problem? Was it the disconnected ground wire as Robert Canning suggested or was it the J3 jumper…and if that what should be the jumper positions…left or right for inverted or non-inverted. I have triple checked my pin selection on the arduino and it is definately pin 11 and grd. Am using the demo version of picsender with the roy rodgers file supplied on the darkly labs site. It definately has M05, M03 and S settings in the code???
