What is recommended for the X-Carve? Left (climb milling) or Right (conventional milling) ?
I use conventional milling for everything…is that the right answer? It works for me.
Just thinking that it may be the cause of the bit chattering. I’ve been using climb milling (the default in Fusion360) but perhaps it puts too much strain on the mechanics of the x-carve?
That might be the problem.
I’ve always climbed, seems to get the best surface finish every time. When I’ve conventionally milled wood, it always seems to “peel” and the edge quality is generally not as good as climb.

That’s what I’ve found with conventional milling - it doesn’t give such a fine edge.
Unless the machine is under powered I wouldn’t think that a properly set up job would cause chatter with either method.
