I just got my X carve up and running. down multiple simple projects and few difficult ones. looking at trying to mill a nice solid piece of red oak and not sure how to preform this. any advice would be greatly helpful.
Milling, like flattening a slab milling? Get yourself a Whiteside spoilboard flattening bit.

Larger pieces might need the tiling option.
I design a piece in CAD with dimensions that are slightly larger on the XY than the item to be milled. The Z of the piece will be the desired end thickness. I program the stock to account for the highest point of what is to be milled.
