My upgraded Xcarve 1000mm

A little update, after having the Xcarve 1000 for just over 4 years Ive decided its time to pull the trigger on the cnc4newbie ultimate upgrade for the XCarve-1000. Even with the upgraded risers & stiffeners, upgraded belts, and upgraded z axis the belts on the X and Y just dont cut it for what im wanting to get out of the machine. They have to go.

Ill be keeping my X controller, base frame, larger router and mount, and my beefy aluminum wasteboard design… Really looking forward to having screw and linear bearings on all 3 axis. I know that will produce its own set of issuse but it will be a MASSIVE improvement.

With Granite I was thinking of mounting it under the 2020 extrusions, and either drilling or epoxy gluing mounting points to angle brackets. So it becomes a bed underneath the machine. I’d still use the standard modular washboard etc.
