yeah I stupidly figured it out after I posted above. I need to go back to the drawing board!
I have to get some more material and retry the explorer, now that you guys have given me all this information!
I appreciate it!

that looks like a highline special
IT IS! I bought the plan a while ago. was the first guitar I started to build!
I learned a lot from Chris Monck!
Makes great videos
Yes he does. I always wanted to build guitars, but never even tried until I stumbled across one of his videos.
now I just need to figure out how to get my xcarve to help me!!!
Just a thought, but if you bought the template, wouldn’t the template be sized to use a guide collar on your router when you cut it out?
Bill,
I bought a pdf plan not a template.
Pm sent
I do!!! I’m starting to get the machine dialed in and my drawings!! Thank u all
That looks like a real good fit. Congrats.
When looking on the picture I noticed that the gap at the edges of where the neck is inserted is bigger on one side than the other. This can be just the picture angle but as you are dialing in your machine you might want to check the squareness too.
actually, you’ll either need to chisel or file out the inside radius on the neck tenon, or radius the neck pocket opening to match. i’m glad you got it worked out!
your talking were the wide part of the neck meets the body?
Right
yup. got that drawn into my body template! thanks
Can’t cut a tight square corner with a round bit!
