I’ve thought about putting one together for the projects section of Inventables, but just doing a quick search of the Projects area there are a few that come up already if you’d like to take a look at the ones that are already there:

There are a couple I will try, 1, 2, & 6.
Like the Loc-line version but difficult to source parts in Canada.

I designed one that is probably similar to all the others out there, and am happy with it. I wish the bristles were longer and softer, but that’s something I can change later if I care enough.
Here’s a picture of the MDF prototype:
And here’s a picture of the final version made out of 1/2" thick red oak (actually 2 pieces of 1/4" red oak glued together). I pulled the bristles out of a $1 brush I got from the hardware store and used wood glue to hold them in place:
