Probably. But I used that because I saw a video with a guy sharing his settings and wanted to be the exact same for a starting point. I’ll upgrade eventually.
It depends on the extruder setup and how efficient it is…16 is ridiculous, 8 is probably too long…my bowden tube is much longer and if I use 8mm it will cause a jam. But, use what works for you.
Also interested once they go on sale.
Yes, no jams. It is not coming out of the coupling. And the faster retraction helps a ton. Also setting the minimum travel to do a retraction to 1mm.
I’m going to be going thru a lot of filament! I just published a design based on feed back for a single holder that has 3 inserts, one for each sharpie, pen, pencil.
Phil I downloaded the file but it opened as 1mm tall. Can you give me the overall dimensions. I am using makerbot print software? I am attempting to print the sharpie holder. I need the overall of the cap or body in order to scale the parts. Thanks!!!
It was in inches. Scale it by 25.4x
I JUST ADDED DIMENSIONS TO ALL THE PARTS ON THE WEBPAGE
Printed the ones with inserts but have not tested it yet.
Tried the pen holder and it works great. Might need a better rubber band
Did you have to remove your dust shoe brackets to use it?
I don’t need to (I just don’t have the brackets installed right now)
That is awesome! And a great print quality!
Thanks Thank your for providing these great designs. I’ll test the new ones with inserts later and will post anything I can find
you guy keep coming up with ideas for my engineering and modeling skills, and I’ll keep sharing!!!
Some little sweeps that cleans the maker slide as the machin cuts, for those of us without dust shoes… lol I should just get a dust shoe.
what are you charging for the mounts? (laser and three insert drawing mount). I know a guy with a 3d printer. but am happy to support this sort of thing.
Sign up sheet here for laser mount. The files are free to print your own, but I’m offering a turn key minus 2 parts to glue on for $60 plus shipping.
All other files are free.
The next ones up for me 3D printing and selling are the 9mm-10mm wide 3GT belt end clips.
Looks great Phil. Something I will look into after I learn my X-carve no sense tackling more than one thing at a time.
I printed the sharpie pen holder you designed. It worked perfectly. Thank you for sharing the design.
Awesome! The cap worked well?
