New to Easel, I might be expecting to much?

Hi, this is my first post. I just recently purchased my first X-carve Pro. I’m rusty but I do have a background in AutoCad, MasterCam, Solidworx however its been over a decade since I’ve had to use them. So with that being said, I’m trying to design a simple part and I’m having some difficulty in Easel. So here’s my issues if anyone can steer my to a feature I’m not aware of or if I am finding limits to Easel right from the start.

  1. Circular Interpolation - to make a 1/2 hole with an 1/8 bit (so I don’t need to change tools to make a 1/2 drill hole)
  2. Center Lining a part - to create features on one side of the part and mirror image it down the middle of the piece to have the same features on the other side - saving time.
  3. Manually entering xy cordenance instead of moving the mouse to the spot.
  4. This is my current biggest issue - My part is rectangular - it has 1/2inch radiused corners on one end and has a sharp 90 for the remaining 2 corners. (in photo) The blue ones I want to keep. The red ones need to be the 90 degree cut.

Easel can do more than you first think, but you have to learn all the things first. I’m a Rhino user that started out on MacDraft. Try using this exploder app to make your rectangle into separate parts and then redraw the bottom lines as 90 corners.

for holes, I choose the bit make the hole the needed diameter and then select clear out a pocket , from the choices given.

There is a hole drilling app as well in the toolbox, but I haven’t used it.

That seemed to work for the corners - thank you for your tip - I definitely feel the process could to streamlined and simplified. Now I need to try and work through my other issues. I think you have put me on the right path!
