We went ahead and designed and cnc cut some supports to the Y axis rails . Came out great and did wonders for rail strength.

Nice, did the same to mine recently but used bent plate. Allows me to cut aluminum like a hot damn now!
and you guys using 1/4" plate?
No the spacing between both rails is .160 that’s what we use
