For a rectangular slot, pick a square shape at the top right. define the size you want in the position menu on the right side of the left hand window, and position it either by co ordinates or by dragging it, the go to the cut menu and at the bottom of the cut menu pick out pocket and select depth on the slider. Just keep poking around in Easel and you will figure things out.
