I’m planning on purchasing the XCarve to make presentation plaques primarily. The bulk of the carving will involve text using cursive or calligraphy fonts. What bits would you recommend for this type work. Also, I’ll need to carve in round, square and star shapes to place inserts - bit recommendations for those would be appreciated as well.
V bits for the engraved fonts… I prefer amana RC-45711
AND for making pockets you’d probably want to use an endmill…and keep in mind radiused corners
