So I have some lead fishing jigs that I would love to create a mold so that I can cast my own. I currently have the jigs but don’t know how to go about getting them in a file so I can create a tool path and cut out some molds. Do I need to get them 3D scanned or can I create a file on my own? Any direction would help. Here’s a picture of what the jigs look like.
Perhaps silicone is the way to go…
@AdamKubica If you’re just wanting to make a mold, I think @RobinButler might be down the right path.
Typically you would not cut anything to make a mold. You simply cast the original. You are making extra work for yourself and they probably won’t come out looking as good. You would choose what type of material to use to make your cast depending on what you want the end product made out of. Lots of videos online…
