Rock pi x controller

Hi I just wanted to share. I have recently purchased a rock pi x to control my xcarve. It is the same size as a raspberry Pi but you can install full windows system on it. Basically a mini computer with passive cooling so no fans or cooling to worry about. Just thought I would share. I know there are a lot of people looking to use tablets. I think this is the best option. Basically a full computer in the size of a pack of gum. Cost me about 125 cad.

Any questions, please ask.

I’m waiting on my x-carve to come in. Just ordered. I’ve read a lot before deciding to order and still reading as much as I can. So I’m definitely still just trying to learn as much as i can. I’ve read several threads on here where people talked about using tablets to run their x-carves. But now I’m confused. Why do you need this Rock Pi or Raspberry? Can you not just use a tablet with the proper capabilities? If not then would a laptop work?

Not necessary. Just another option.

You can use a Windows Tablet.

Yes, but it’s the more expensive route and they don’t like dust.

Thank you sir for the clarification!
