So as I try to get to the bottom of the reason my Y axis is running a 1/4" long, instead of wasting more supplies I designed a nice easy Sharpie bracket to attach to your spindle mount so you can draw with your x-carve either for diagnostics like i’m doing or whatever your preference. STL File attached for 3D printing and a pic too 
Kinda like leaving the sharpie in the top so i always know where to find it.

Nice brush - where did you get that? I was planning to use clear plastic carpet runner attached with magnets because I am paranoid and want to see what is happening.
Awesome! Gonna get one printed. I like that better the one that gets pinched inside the spindle mounts.
