I’ve been designing for a while in Sketchup now but I’m just starting to convert those designs to g-code using Sketch-u-cam. I’m trying to figure out how many line segments to use in arcs and circles. In Sketchup you can have up to 9999 segments, but that results in an insane number of g-code lines and software crashes.
Does anyone know of an extension for Sketchup that automatically calculates the appropriate number of line segments for a given arc and machining tolerance?
I could manually change them, is there any rule of thumb for this?
