SOLVED Lost grbl settings

Got to shutdown for tonight (actually this morning).

For another test, at the gShield, move the stepper motor wires from the X axis position to the Y axis position.

Move the Y axis wires to the X axis position.

Test the X and Y movements and note which stepper motor(s) work and which motor(s) don’t work.

Take careful notes as this can be confusing. Report the results.

Don’t forget to change the wires back after the test.

I can take a look at your test results later this afternoon.

i have made a mistake at the start of the thread, i mixed up the y and x axis.
the problem is at the x axis.

i measured D2-D3-D4 => 0V in one direction en 5V in the other direction
D5-D6-D7 => +/- 70mV

Then i swiched the wires from x an y axis, and the problem moves to the other axis. So the wiring and the steppermotor are fine.

is there somthing i can measure at the output of the G-shield?

I’m going to reverse myself here. After reading back through some other threads on the forum it would seem more likely that this problem is a bad Arduino. Since the machine movement is far greater than the requested move, it is more likely that the Arduino is issueing more steps pulses than it should — maybe due to a failing I/O port.

It is possible that the gShield is at fault, but more likely to be the Arduino.

Meanwhile i have received a new g-shield and an new arduino from inventables (@SamAlaimo great customer support!) and everything works great! The g-shield was broken, the arduino was fine after all.
