Square not cut square

I’m completing the build of a used X-Carve donated to our local MakerSpace and having a problem with the cut not being square to itself. If I design a square in Easel it is not square when cut by the X-Carve when measured across from corner to corner. Example I defined a 16 inch square and the diagonals were 3/16 of an inch different.

My belts and eccentric pulleys are tight.

Any suggestions on what to work to resolve this?

Two things:

  • Square the frame
  • Make sure the gantry isnt skewed, many people use bumb stops for each side so when they power the machine up they hold it up against these stops.
