Just finished up the detail work on this Star Wars commission. As with my other models, I modeled everything in 2D in InkScape and then imported the pieces into Easel and cut them out with my X-Carve. The barrel and stock are made from PVC and some of the details are foam and 3D printed pieces.
Awesome stuff Sean! Tell us about the sword…
Lol, the sword is a 1/4" piece of sanded ply, a triangular piece, a whole can of Bondo, and a lot of patience. I’m working from Adam Savage’s Hellboy Sword video to build a sword from DarkSouls.
I thought that sword technique looked familiar.
Nice work on all of the projects in your photos
Swords are super fun to build, though somewhat of a challenge to get the hilt and pommel right.
So these two things don’t belong together, but I like the juxtaposition of old and new. I’ve been working on this sword for what seems like forever but I’m happy with the result.
Awsome, dude! The sword is for when you run out of bullets/laser beams, the grid goes down, etc.
The sword is not as clumsy or random as a blaster. An elegant weapon, for a more civilized age.
You’re preaching to the choir on that one. I’m a black belt in Kendo…
