No, Easel can not import STL files. Gcode from STL need to be generated using other programs (Vcarve?), Easel can send the gcode to the machine though.
Hopefully someone can provide a sound workflow for you.
I use Rhino 3d and save my projects as an STL. I use meshcam to generate the gcode. I run the gcode through the UGS, not Easel. Easel can import G code though by clicking on File/Import Gcode.
