i have a 1/4 shank x1 inch surfacing bit . what is the procedure for adding it into my bit inventory
You have to add it as an endmill in Easel.

Click “Toolbox” at the top. Top right you can add custom bits. the Sub-Type of endmill doesn’t really make a difference, but I’d select “Straight” for consistency, and enter the diameter and your Custom Name for the bit. Save cut specs to this bit for future usage. . . that’s it really.
