Would you be willing to share the project(s) that didn’t work with roughing/detail? Please keep in mind, this feature is still in early access. If you could share some more details about what didn’t work, maybe we can improve the feature.
Hey everyone using this feature, thanks for the feedback and comments. The functionality to support specifying which bit to use to cut out shapes seems to be quite a common request. We are going to look into what would be involved in supporting that.
Thanks Jeff! It looks like you might be right. I wish there were different depth of cut settings for the detail bit. That would allow a full depth single pass which is what I’m looking for. That way any strata lines are cleaned up in the final pass. Maybe the guys can work on that feature!!!
If you change your custom cut settings between the roughing pass and the detail pass, those should be used on the detail pass. The UI is not very clear about this, and improving the display/entry of cut settings for roughing & detail passes is something we’ll work on as well.
I like to cut all that if blue with a 6 mm bit and the rest with a 3mm to make it all fine and smooths and i did like some one of you told me two way cut so i pit 2 bits went to carving and then i made all settings and press carving. after that the machine did not even move it just came the finish window up are you happy with you work yes no. So i try this progress 3 time all way the same and inbetween it even say we can not find your machine. Yes i know its still in early access i just was pissed that day that all went wrong sorry
Excellent. I’ll give it a go this weekend and report back
On a Carvey, does the machine re-home itself to get {x,y,z} = {0,0,0} for the new bit, or do we have to still do the same trick of drilling a small hole at a known position and using that to rebase the second bit to be at the same {dx,dy,dz} as the first ?
