Universal Gcode Sender Z starts too deep

I am using VCarve pro and Unicersal gcode sender. This is my first time trying to set this up.

The problem is that after I zero the machine in UGS and hit send it actually dives too deep into the material instead of starting at the proper depth. Anybody know why this happens?

Should I have set the home position in Vcarve pro for the Z axis to 0? It was default at 0.8.

Have you zeroed your z-axis prior to hitting send?

Yeah I zeroed it. I think I figured it out. I’m an idiot. It was just that I had set my first pass as 0.08, which is how far it was going down. Duh. I think I need to do shallower passes though.

All depends on material type, spindle type and bit…
