Upcut and downcut bits

I am new to CNC and Easel. Does anyone have a suggestion how to tell if a bit is a downcut or an upcut.
I just purchased a longmill MK2 and the bits I ordered with it tell what bit they are but they are not color coded or say anything if they are upcut or downcut. Thanks for any suggestions.
