So, will these work in a pinch for 3mm acrylic, or PVC foam?
I tried them about 10 years ago and they were horrible for CNC. Unless something has changed, I would avoid them.
When I first got my SO2 set up a couple months ago, I tried some RotoZip bits I have on hand. They worked, but the biggest issue is the length. I could see the bit bending a little in hardwood. I thought about cutting off some of the length, but an order of bits designed for CNC arrived before I had to do that.
When I first built my S2, I used Zip Bits on scrap wood to hone my skills before I trashed the good bits. They work in a pinch and good for items not needing precision. I used them to make the hold downs while perfecting my technique.
