V-Carve Pro Help

yeah thats the general workaround that we decided on and it works just a little time consuming work-around

Hey there - if it was me - I would just cut one profile toolpath with a v-bit at .02 or so it looks like a chamfer. Should be quick - one pass. That will give you your reference like. Cut “ON” the tool path. Then, just cut it out and you will have a perfect guide plus a means to hide any fudging on the band saw.

thats not a bad idea man thanks for that I might go ahead and do that for the customer and yeah if I use a fine enough tool that will give them the reference they need

Sorry if i’m late to the party but here is my suggestion. Make the circle overlap the heart and use the drilling toolpath that only uses the centre of the circle so you can make it any size you like. Because the shapes overlay they stay together. Sorry for the poor heart shape :frowning:

oh yeah I see what you are saying but correct be if I am wrong if you place the center of the circle right on the point of the heart

you would violate the profile of the shape you are cutting out even if you used a small bit. I believe that you need the circle tangent with the heart not centered on that part

It was thrown together to demonstrate the idea, I didn’t give any attention to the positioning, it took me all of 60 seconds  Yes you would need to position according to your bit size

oh yeah no worries I just got to thinking that if you make the circle large enough and the calculate the offset distance I think that idea would work actually :star_struck:
