HI all,
New user and trying to use my z probe within Easel pro. I go through the process but when I get to the point where the screen says probing the process doesn’t seem to end, I just see the animation of the bit moving down and the z axis doesn’t move. Is it supposed to?
thanks for any guidance.
Josh
Try going back thru and setting it up again. Happened to me a couple months ago while setting one up for my son but i can not remember what i did to fix it for sure. I am pretty sure i set it up again or i could have been the ground on the painted collet. And welcome aboard.
thanks. Nice to be here. This is a brand new hobby for me. I am in week 2 of CNC router ownership and it is a steep learning curve to say the least
Am I right that the wire with the crocodile clip goes to the bit itself? The clip doesn’t open wide enough to go on the collet.
Thanks
Josh
Mine all go on the collet. But that should work as long as you have good contact.

Should I be clipping the Z probe to the collet and not the cutter ? Clip’s a bit small. Also , how do I recalibrate my Z probe settings in Easel ? Some numbers would be helpful as my router bit is working above where it should be and is not cutting at all. This happened suddenly .
Hi
Given it another go and when I set up the machine and tell Easel Pro I have a z probe the circle lights up green when I touch the probe to the bit. So far so good.
But when I try and calibrate the probe, I touch the probe to the bit and I get the “Something has gone wrong message” along with a picture of a sad looking Easel. Could it be that I am using safari?
Regards
Josh
