Fixing the Z

Is there any way to fix Z if you want to change bits
I have a tendency to move the Z axis when I have to change bits.
Is there any way to avoid it

Are you holding the router with one hand when you change your bit?

Normaly yes, but I could not do that earlier ,
but now I can move it both forward and back while the x-controler is still on

This is in one of the links above. It can be done without taking the whole x controller apart, although you have to open it up a bit to get to the boards. You should be able to change bits while the motors are locked in position as the torque is higher with the switches off.
