Help with a keyring

Ive got the attached SVG file, but i have a couple issues.

First i woudl like to add a piece on top so that i can attach a keyring, but so far ive not achieved it.

Also, when cutting the design, right now its designed so that it cuts a pocket out of the inner circle (black areas) leaving the dog figure untouched, but it takes forever, and i would like it to cut it like a path

Anyone can help?

Ive achieved the first problem, so now its just cutting the shaded areas as a patch cut rather than a pocket (to save time)

Click on the center area and tell it to cut on path.

Monogram / Door Hanger / Fatten Type

I get a lot of questions on how to do this, see pictures below. Fatten Type You can use the Offsetter app to Fatten type. After you fatten it select all and fill.
