Fatten Type
You can use the Offsetter app to Fatten type. After you fatten it select all and fill. Then you will need to set the areas to either full depth or zero depth and then re-combine
Monogram / Door Hanger
Remember once you set your outline you can control it somewhat on how it cuts by choosing, inside, outside or on path. Tabs are your friend with these I use one to two of them in every waste area.
