I use Bobcad Does this for g code generation

I downloaded the Meshcam trial this weekend and decided to give the Easel g-code sending feature a try. I was VERY happy with the results using the 1/8" ball end bit that came with my X-Carve. The bottom is the roughing pass only, I did that just as an initial test. The top finishing pass used the default .01 step over, but I bumped the feed to 40IPM which worked fine. I can’t wait to purchase the full Meshcam license.

i would like access for Fusion 360

Where can I locate the PP file for easel? Thanks

When using the gcode import feature do the stock size, thickness, or bit size settings matter or were they all determined in the program that generated the gcode? I assume they don’t, but want to be sure before I stop worrying about setting them.

Export the g-code and try to import it into Easel. If that doesn’t work check out this support page and delete the g-code from your file that isn’t supported. Check to make sure each one you delete is not doing something important you need.

Then try to import it again. I’ve never used FlatCam so I don’t know what it spits out. Alternatively do a very simple design in FlatCam and post the g-code here so we can take a look if it doesn’t work. It might work out of the box.

@JosephJackson @DaniloProietti @RobPollara @AaronMaun the keys to your Ferrari have arrived…I mean you now have g-code import.

@NickMerola nice job buddy!

@DavidYerkes the PP for Fusion 360, Vectric, and MeshCAM are all in Easel when you click “import g-code” in the file menu. For all others use this spec.

Please add me to the list. Would like to try it with v-carve
Thanks,

please add me to the list too.

thank you.

Please add me to the list as well.
Thank you,

I’d love to give this a whirl, especially for previsualizing F-Engrave code, and if I one day get around to learning how to use Fusion.

Thanks!

Hello Scott did you succed using inventor HSM, im trying to doit but cant make it work

I just tried my hand at the easel g-code import. Everything worked except it offset 0,0 an inch in both directions to the positive side. It was a push stick I created in Fusion 360. Not sure what I did. I ran it 3 times and it was offset every time.

I also quickly realized that changing the stock thickness doesn’t do what it normally would if you created the project in easel. I made the depth 0.25 in Fusion but my mdf measured 0.29 and it didn’t cut full depth.

Jason,

Yes there is an option in the Fusion 360 post to offset the design from the corner (because of the smart clamp clearance on the Carvey machine). You can disable it by clicking “Properties” and setting “Clamp Offset” to zero. We will try to figure out a way to make this disabled by default for using X-Carve as opposed to Carvey.

@Mike , @RoyHoskins, @RobbieGautier, @FrankM you’ve all been added.

hi Paul
please let me test as well. Thanks

Great, thanks Paul. I never thought of looking there.

I’m glad you made this feature in easel. This keeps me having to slog my way through ugcs or chilipeppr and learning another program. My brain is getting overloaded as it is.
