Add me to the list I’m a glutton for punishment …

@SteveB so far it’s worked for everyone except For photo vcarve which didn’t work PhotoVCarve Product Page | Vectric

We are going to need to investigate further why the post processor didn’t show up in the list for that one.

You’ve been added to the early access group.

Please add me to the early access group for G-code import. I use Fusion 360. Thanks. Jose

Could I get access please?
Mark

Yes sir! @MarkAlexMaidique and @JoseAdroved you are ready to rock

I’m using Fusion 360. Would like to be set up with this feature. Thanks!

would love to try it!

Wow the response to this feature has been a bit more than expected! I thought people would be interested but this is outta control.

Also glad to hear it has been successful so far.

For people that are testing it what do you normally use? Is this your first time sending gcode or do you have a current tool chain you work with and you are exploring if this works better for you?

@BarryGlaim and @TimKettering you’re ready for launch.

Can you hook a guy up? Currently using Aspire and ugcs.

@BrettBaldwin consider yourself hooked up. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on if it is better, worse, the same, or just different than UGCS.

I think my real problem is not where the start point is but that is part of it. My real problem is no real time readout of where the tool is presently located. I know I can go to Machine settings and get it but there are no manual controls there which negates it.
I think what I am saying is Easel doesn’t have enough info in one place, it requires switching windows.
UGCS does have a real time location and machine coordinates and a visualizer and command input but no design capabilities.
What I am looking for is something that has all without it breaking the bank.

I would like to test it out also. I use fusion 360 and maybe vcarve in the future

@JasonStunkard you’ve been added to the party!

@DanielAlderman Ah OK it seems like this issue extends beyond the scope of the g-code sending through easel feature.

It would be great if you would start a different thread in the Easel Feature Request section to talk about real time read out of position and manual controls. It would be great to hear more about your frustrations and requirements so we can get that part of Easel right. I believe GRBL is adding feed rate override soon so that might factor into the mix as well. For now I’d like to keep this thread focused on the new g-code import feature. That being said if you are saying that the g-code import feature is unusable for you without those to items than I think this is a good place for the discussion and it would be great to explore more detail about the requirements.

In terms of price we are trying to keep Easel free and X-Carve as affordable as possible.

I use aspire, utilizing UGS currently. It provides its own frustrations and would love to try out using Easel.

Brian Rizzo

@BrianRizzo nice ornament…that looks very nice. I just added you. What are your frustrations with UGCS?

One of my main issues is with zeroing. I constantly have to quit the program and restart it in oder for it to zero properly. It seems to always leave a few random digits in the x, y or z… doesn’t seem to always reset them all to “0”. I have ruined many things when i did not notice that even after clicking “reset zero” it didn’t really do that…

thanks for adding me… i will give it a go!

@HughMckibbin you’re in. What tool chain do you use now? Do you like it?
