The use of vcarve on x carve help

Robert, thank you for your able assistance but I just spent over 2 hours online with Brian from Summers Woodworking. He helped me load my post processors in the correct location and got me set up to run in UGS. I only loaded the inch pp as I never work in mm. The video is the result of all that work. As I am an 'apple; person, I am not all that sure footed running around in windows. That being said, if you and I can get together on facebook like Brian and I did I am willing to listen to what you have to say.

No I’ve not done that as my copy of PhotoVCarve is downloaded from the internet and I don’t have anyway to recover it if I uninstall it. I am currently waiting to hear from Vectric in jolly ole England as of now.

Sorry didn’t read all, as far as I know it does, everything seems to come up okay it just doesn’t carve as it should, I think.

Ugh yep, that’s what mine looks like. Like I said, I am waiting to hear back from Vectric in jolly ole England before I proceed any further!

You may try carving before you go any further!

I might add, I am using a new (purchased about 5 months ago) pc with the latest processor (I5 I think) and updated hardware/software.

Thanks all the same!

Robert. Can you send James your gcode to see if his machine carves it the same as yours. If the same gcode that worked on yours does not work on his then James might have a hardware problem.

Robert, like I said, I loaded win10 but I couldn’t get easel to work with it and some other problems so I reverted to win7.

The pre-installed pp for X carve is fine. But I would recommend you delete the tool change command in the start block.

hello, i have windows 10. downloaded the file you suggested but W10 doesn’t know what app to use to open it.

How well does the Elaire collet fit the 611, I thought the Dewalt was Proprietary?

Fits perfectly, I have the 1/8", 4mm and 6mm collets from Elaire for the 611.
