This is my 3d printed take on the Y-Axis stiffener:
This is an addition to 3d printed X-Axis stiffener for older models
You need the following parts:
- 2x m5 x 8 mm button hex screw (https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_d8YF8cV)
- 2x m5 t-nut (https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_dSRSU1X) OR drop-in t-nut (https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_dYOTSvB)
Again, I think this is an awesome solution, after just placing 1, the whole flexing of the Y axis stopped. Opposite to the other available solutions:
- Is very lightweight (11g in plastic per unit)
- It is completelly removable, does not even leave scratches or marks on the rails
- It is almost invisible/looks nice
- Removes all the flex
I know there is Working on 3D printed Y axis stiffening brackets but, while it is a good approach, it is a complicated version that does not use the rail slot itself as part of the stiffening.
